Speaking of jangling. . .

I've been meaning to share this brief post with you from fellow speaker Ross Bowring - about making sure you take the change out of your pocket before you get up to speak.

I mentioned my bracelet problem in a previous post, but I'm not a guy, so pocket change is not something that occurs to me to worry about. Thanks, Ross!

And let me toss in an additional comment about long hair. If you will be tempted to play with your hair at all, pull it back. Use a headband, a hairclip, whatever you have to do. Constantly fiddling with your hair or having to sweep it behind your ear over and over will be a distraction and makes you look less professional.

Of course, if you exhibit a lot of excitement in your presentation, no one will notice your distractions. :-)
