Reasons to eat macaroni and cheese

You're hungry.

You're happy.

You want to be happy.

You got a raise! Celebrate.

You got fired! Mac and cheese is excellent for comfort.

New job! Hard work, little time. Mac and cheese for supper, definitely!

You broke up with your boyfriend/girlfriend and need to drown your sorrows in pasta and cheese.

You've met Mr./Ms. Right and want to feed him/her your favorite food.

The weather is cold and foggy.

You're feeling lonely. Mac and cheese makes everything feel okay again.

You're feeling overwhelmed with people and want to be alone with your dinner.

Your Netflix has arrived - you're ready for dinner and a movie or three.

You're having brined pork chops for dinner, and nothing is as good with pork chops as macaroni and cheese.

Tomorrow you're going low-carb, low-fat.

'Cause you love it!

This is my favorite page so far from my new cookbook, Macaroni & Cheese, by Marlena Spieler, who also happens to be the author of my all-time favorite cookbook, The Vegetarian Bistro: 250 Authentic French Regional Recipes. Oh, hey, she's also the author of Grilled Cheese, which I also own!

I got it from Kim and Jason's Lemonade Stand, by the way, with the gift certificate I won for the June photo contest on their site!

I hope you all had a fabulous Bastille Day! Unfortunately, a French rider did not win the stage in the Tour de France, as every French citizen hopes, but it was still pretty exciting!

Thanks for stopping by, Marlena! I'm looking forward to eating my way through the recipes, too. :-)

Oh, Lisa, you have to get this book. Or the grilled cheese book. Your cravings will all be satisfied! Although it's a little hot right now for stovetop cooking and especially for turning on the oven!
